Forensic Biology Analyst

Title: Forensic Biology Analyst  Description:  Performs human serological screening and DNA testing for the purpose of  forensic analysis and other related applications. 

 

BRT Laboratories Inc., an ISO 17025 accredited forensic laboratory, is currently accepting resumes for a Forensic Biology / DNA Analystposition.  Qualifications include knowledge of advanced laboratory techniques and instrumentation; previous forensic DNA laboratory experience; a minimum of a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, forensic science, or a related field with a minimum of 12 semester hours of coursework covering the subject areas of biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, statistics and population genetics. Must possess knowledge of serology, PCR, STRs, capillary electrophoresis and the use of computer programs to run instrumentation and analyze data; knowledge of FBI-QAS and ASCLD-LAB standards and how to maintain compliance within the laboratory; knowledge of good laboratory safety and quality control procedures; computer skills (excel); and general problem solving.  Applicants that have completed a training program, compiled casework and/or validation experience, or are current in proficiency testing will be given additional consideration.  Responsibilities include public and private client casework, expert court testimony, and development and validation of new software, hardware and reagents.  Salary is commensurate with experience.  Please submit a C.V., salary history and three references.
