Job Description GC-MS Field Marketing Specialist The person in this position will be responsible for identifing and qualifying prospects for the GC & GC-MS products in the designated territory as a means of increasing the Gas Chromatography Product line’s penetration into this market and territory. This will include traveling with territory sales personnel to provide support in the execution of the tactical messaging for the product line; collaborating with key local laboratories to ensure Thermo Fisher leads the way in method development and marketing of GC and GC-MS for new regulations; and aiding in identification of seed site opportunities within the routine regulated GC-MS market. Additional duties include attendance at trade shows and seminars in support of GC and GC-MS products and assisting the factory in defining, executing and proofing future software, hardware and feature deliverables. Other miscellaneous tasks will be assigned. Applicants must be willing to travel 70% on an annual basis.We require a bachelor degree in chemistry or a related field and a minimum of ten years experience in laboratories performing USEPA and other regulated environmental methods via heavy emphasis on GC-MS systems. Fewer years of experience may be considered in lieu of a master’s degree or PhD. Five or more years experience in marketing, technical sales, or technical sales support is a plus. Applicants must have a high level of energy and initiative, with proven reasoning abilities and sound judgment. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential.
