Genetic Counselor

Genesis Genetics is the pioneer and leading provider of preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). Our laboratory works with all the major IVF clinics in the United States, as well as many abroad. As part of our PGD testing procedure, we offer genetic counseling sessions to each of our patients. Our Genetic Counselors are responsible for providing counseling to a diverse patient population seeking PGD services for both common and very rare genetic diseases.

 

Duties include: Obtaining medical and family history information Answering patient questions Coordinating testing with IVF clinics Opportunities within the community are also available, including community outreach and educational endeavors.

 

Minimum requirements: Graduate of an accredited genetic counseling program with a Masters degree in Genetic Counseling. Must be board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling. Experience is a plus, but new graduates are encouraged to apply. Strong communication skills. Must be a team player.
