He/she reports to Manager, Market Research Excedrin and works with Global Marketing Heads and other functional groups to proactively identify problems and opportunities and works with supervisor to define information needs. He/she is responsible for the design and implementation of custom market research projects to provide insightful analyses with sound recommendations and data interpretations. Requires a high degree of initiative and independent judgment in identifying research needs and following through on projects. Must be able to think creatively, interpret data and draw appropriate conclusions. Individual must be able to set priorities and work within tight time lines and sometimes conflicting demands.QualificationsBachelors Degree minimum, MBA preferred. 5- 7 plus years related work experience, ideally in the consumer sector of the over the counter (OTC) industry. Global market research experience desirable. Manufacturer or supplier experience a must. Consumer research experience required. Travel approximately 15% of time. Experience conducting primary (custom) research with experience in secondary research. Ability to prioritize work within a team environment. Requires strong working knowledge of Microsoft Professional Office (i.e. PowerPoint, Excel and Word) and an ability to synthesize observations to specific marketing implication(s). Requires understanding of primary (custom) research methodologies. Requires excellent analytical writing skills. Requires working knowledge of industrial syndicated data sources (IRI/Nielsen, IMS, Versipan, Spectra). Must work on-site at Novartis in Parsippany, NJ.
