Position Description:

1.  The successful candidate will join the New Technology Assessment group.

2.  Will be responsible for establishing Human Stem Cell culturing methods and technologies, and integrate his/her projects with ongoing stem cells approaches in the company.

3.  Development of stem cell specific reagent products and cell based assays for stem cell research for use by scientists in both academia and industry

4.  Play a key role in the conversion of a candidates technology to a product, primary person responsible for hands–on evaluation of proposed new technologies in the Lab, propose evaluation plans and execute them, determine where new candidate technologies need improvement and enable commercialization.

5.  The successful candidate will generate detailed research reports with scientific data and recommendations on further development or abandonment of the new technology

6.  Candidate will be proactive and will contribute to the excitement of working in a stimulating high-end research environment.

 

 

Qualifications:

1.  Doctoral degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline is required.

2.  Minimum of 3 years post- doctorate industrial experience [Critical – experience needs to be industrial (pharma R&D, biotech) not academia] in Stem Cell research and have demonstrated experience by lead authorship in peer reviewed journals, patents, or equivalent scientific accomplishments.

3.  Must have hands-on experience with gene expression profiling, molecular cloning, quantitative RT-PCR, microarray data analysis, Western blotting, ELISA and cell culture.

4.  Strong written and oral communication skills needed as well as proficiency in a PC environment to include Microsoft Office and database applications.

Compensation and Benefits:
