Hematology Technician

This is a third shift Senior Laboratory Technician position in our Hematology department. Scheduled hours of work are:Monday Friday: 11:30pm - 8:00amAlternating Saturdays: 8:00pm - 4:30amThis position will perform technical, clerical and maintenance procedure in the laboratory.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Proficient operator of the Cell-Dyn 3500 and/or ADVIA 120.Ability to perform all hemo benches Mis hemo; Avians; Cyto; Slides; Celldyn.Knowledge of basic quality control guidelines, basic maintenance and troubleshooting for hematology equipment.Ability to make up stains and other reagents as needed.Ability to understand and follow GLP regulations in performing contract research work.May assist with training of new lab assistants and technician.Adhere to Accident and Illness Prevention Program.Performs duties requiring minimal supervision.Thorough understanding of departmental deadlines and priorities.Read, understand and follow all applicable SOPs.Perform all duties for Hematology Lab Assistant.Requirements: EDUCATION 1-2 years college education or equivalent or 1-2 years clinical lab experience. EXPERIENCE 6 months general lab experience or education REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to perform majority of outlined duties Signed off to perform contract research work
