As a HistoTechnician, you will be responsible for performing the duties of the general histology laboratory to include paraffin microtomy, tissue grossing/processing and routine and special staining. Your knowledge and experience will be utilized in training and assisting others staff members. The ability to complete a quality product in a timely manner, through the efforts of others, is vital to the department and the company.Responsibilities:1. Operate microtome, strainers, coverslipper, embedding center, tissue processors, microscopes and all other miscellaneous equipment.2. Set-up diagnostic and prognostic paraffin block specimens.3. Process tissues, which include grossing, decalcification and cell blocks.4. Paraffin embeds tissue.5. Performs microtomy procedures.6. Performs H&E's--automatic and manual.7. Performs special stains.8. Microdissects paraffin blocks for DNA procedures. Hours of Employment:Monday-Friday: 3:00 p.m.-11:30 pm. A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is required. HT Certification is required. 5 years of experience as a Histotech is required.
