JOB DESCRIPTION:
The histotechnologist is focused on histological preparation and analysis of preclincal specimens including both non-decalcified and decalcified processes. This individual also conducts histochemical staining, histomorphometric analyses, and immunohistochemical analyses under the dirction of the Manager of Preclinical Studies.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain highly accurate specimen identification and tracking records.Process histological specimens as required by protocol, implant size, and material type.Produce high quality histological slides.Conduct image-guided histomorphometric analyses using ImagePro Image Analysis or other software.Prepare SEMs and contact radiographs for image analysis as needed.Interpret raw data, perform basic statistical analyses, and compare findings to prior studies.Responsible for day-to-day running and organization of histology laboratory.Generate technical memos and reports.Develop new processing protocols for unique specimens or geometries.Keep current with the literature on new technologies in histology and histomorphometry.QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in PC based applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.EDUCATION:
