Job Description Human Resources Manager - Commercial Sales Job Title: Human Resources Manager, Band IVDivision: Laboratory Equipment DivisionLocation: Milford, MA. Reports to: Human Resources Director Job Summary:Primary responsibility is to coordinate the implementation of HR processes and programs that increase the productivity, competence, and effectiveness of field employees in the North American sales organization. Works closely with Sales, HR and LPG organization leaders to identify and meet HR requirements of the division’s and corporate strategic and operating plans. Contributes to organization wide HR policies and standards development. Reports to and receives day-to day guidance on policy and process issues from the Commercial Human Resources Director. Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities: 1. Ensures alignment of human resources processes with commercial strategic and operating goals. 2. Responsible for remaining up to date on relevant state employment laws and other human resources compliance issues. Updates management on policies/processes as necessary. 3. Counsels and/or coaches employees and managers regarding employee relations issues including performance management, facilitation of formal/informal complaints to resolution, discipline and/or terminations, etc. in line with local culture and the business and legal environment . 4. Provide leadership in, and promotion of, a positive One Thermo company culture by being an advocate for employees while achieving a balance with all levels of company goals. 5. Assists managers in assessing and providing for training needs and encouragement of employees to continuously develop their skills in their field of work. 6. Help NA Sales Leadership understand competency gaps in frontline sales and management employees. Work with HRD, global HR resources, commercial personnel, and external contractors to develop systems and programs to build competencies 7. As assigned, coordinates compensation plans, including coordination of the annual performance and salary reviews, facilitation of current job descriptions, and participation in the appropriate management of total compensation, rewards and recognition programs for your client groups. 8. Partner with HRD and internal recruiters to prioritize the selection process and hiring of all temporary, consultant and regular employees including job requisition management, job posting, state agency notifications, advertisements, resume/application screening, interview coordination, offer letters, background checks, post-offer drug testing, and new hire orientation. Collaborate with HR team to develop proactive programs for sourcing and developing talent. 9. Ensure access to information regarding the company’s benefit plans, communicating US enrollment process. Partner with country contacts to ensure all field personnel meet compliance requirements and regulations for all local and national labor laws. 10. Partner with NA Sales Leadership to design and implement a regular communication plan (e.g., newsletters, town halls) with NA Field employees. Help Leadership manage messaging consistent with strategic direction. 11. Responsible for ensuring accuracy of all iVantage data changes for field personnel partnering with local site administrative resources. Provides management with relevant reports as needed. Maintains legally compliant and accurate personnel files which support smooth operation of commercial operations in North America. 12. Participate as a full-standing member of North American Commercial Leadership team. Collaborate with other team members to develop and execute the actions to guide the business. Educational Qualifications: BA/BS required, MA/MS preferred PHR/SPHR and/or other Professional Certifications desirable Experience Qualifications: 5+ years of direct experience in all aspects of human resources (staffing, compensation, employee relations and organizational development) Experience in a variety of work settings preferably including sales and manufacturing. Ability and experience in building as well as operating processes. Willingness and desire to work in an unstructured environment. Experience in implementing programs and processes that yield positive results. Experience in general facilitation and stand-up training highly desirable. Global HR experience in multiple cultures. Ability to travel up to 3 nights per month out of town. Skill Requirements: Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Ability to use a high level of tact, diplomacy, discretion and empathy/understanding in a global environment across multiple cultures. Must possess moderate computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and email. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and manage associated stress. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
