Currently, we have a great opportunity for a highly motivated hands-on professional to provide support for existing and new Laboratory Information Systems including, Waters Empower Chromatography system (HPLC), StatLia, SoftMax, and Applied Biosystems Analyst (LC/MS).

Specifically, you will:

• Provide administration support for laboratory instrumentation systems
• Work with vendors to provide support, including system upgrades
• Assist with configuring data backups
• Manage system upgrade projects
• Work with Validation to maintain systems in a compliant state
• Train users on IT specific protocols including Citrix connectivity
• Supervise technical personnel
• Prioritize department projects and tasks
• Schedule and assign work
• Provide advanced troubleshooting expertise
• Write Standard Operating Procedures, maintain system documentation, and assist in writing system proposals and validation documentation
• Work with Information Technology and Validation departments as appropriate to support, upgrade, and validate systems
• Write, Review, and Execute validation protocols as part of the laboratory instrumentation validation efforts
• Assist with defining strategies and procedures for the Laboratory Informatics group

This position requires:

• A four-year degree in a science-related discipline, preferably chemistry or biology
• 5 years of experience working in a laboratory environment within a regulated industry (preferable pharmaceutical)
• Experience with administering laboratory instrumentation systems such as HPLC, LC/MS, FTIR, UV/VIS, plate readers, gamma counters, etc.
• The ability to establish solid working relationships with multiple departments and manage multiple tasks and projects
• Thorough knowledge of computers, laboratory instrumentation, validation and networking technology
• Strong oral and written skills are required with experience in validation and documentation
• Experience gathering and documenting user requirements
• Working knowledge of analytical applications utilized in the laboratory including SQL, Visual Basic, Citrix, and Empower
• Oracle database management or client/server technology
• Computer systems validation and FDA GLP/GMP regulations
• Experience interfacing laboratory instruments and LIMS
• Experience managing technical personnel including prioritizing projects, scheduling work, and advanced troubleshooting.
