IT Manager, Network Automation and Management - (Job Number: 0805572) DescriptionResponsible for engineering and development of globally scalable and redundant Network Management Systems. Produce operationally sustainable information technology infrastructure solutions following FCAPS and ITIL models Lead team (4+ direct reports) responsible for engineering efforts around the design, evaluation, and standardized implementation of network monitoring and management technologies, including lifecycle management and roadmaps of current and future technologies Interface with potential managed network provider(s) to establish network management solutions including the eBonding of provider and J&J management systems. Establish and maintain vendor management for network management systems though ongoing dialog and scorecards Understand end-to-end high level operational processes for Change, Configuration, Release, Problem, and Incident Management, and low level operational processes for required IT functions (Installation, Customization, Operation, Removal) for designing network management solutions Translate these operational processes into workflows and design tools and automation to provide for these workflows Lead team in evaluation, design, test, deployment, and integration of technologies to enable automated functions to be performed against network technologies using tools and standards (SNMP, RMON, TELNET, SSH, CLI, FTP, ICMP, SSH, NetFlow, published API's, XML/SOAP, PERL) without operator responses, allowing scripted automation of required functions for network devices where possible Interface with groups including Global Network Operations, Global Service Center, Enterprise Management Systems, and Architecture to understand requirements for designing highly available standard monitoring and management technology systems based upon an overall architecture, integrated with the ITSM/CMDB (BMC) platform Approximate experience or equivalent knowledge and skills necessary to satisfactorily perform the position responsibilities indicated above 8+ years professional experience with four-year degree or 6+ years professional experience with advanced degree 6+ years IT experience with enterprise level technology infrastructure engineering, with a minimum 2 years focused on subject area technologies 2+ years experience with key project roles on large enterprise technology development projects 2+ years managing technical staff including providing performance reviews and ongoing feedback Knowledge of multiple network management tools and integrations such as HP OpenView NNM, CiscoWorks, CA eHealth, NetScout nGenius, Network General Sniffer/Infinistream, Cisco NAMs, HP Network Automation and Process Systems, Cisco TACACS, Cisco WLSE/WCS Knowledge of network technologies including Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Cisco PIX firewalls, Cisco WAAS, Packeteer PacketShapers, F5 BigIP load balancers, Nortel Contivity gateways, Nortel PBXes, Tandberg video systems Apply Now
