Job Summary

Incumbent will perform research and development in collaboration with others on biochemical and immunological assays used for pharmacokinetic and immunogenicity analyses in support of preclinical and clinical studies of biologics.  Develops, optimizes and validates assays to meet needs of clinical development programs through the application of state-of-the-art knowledge in immunology and bioanalytical chemistry.  Performs method transfers internally or externally, when appropriate. 

 

Essential FunctionsDevelop/optimize immunoassays for Morphotek product developmentWith limited supervision, perform biochemical and molecular biology techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western blot, nucleic acid isolation, PCR, protein purification, etc.Perform method validation studies according to established protocolsDraft, review and implement Standard Operating Procedures for laboratory operations/methodsMaintain laboratory (sample storage, supplies, cleanliness, etc.)Perform preclinical and/or clinical sample analysis under GLP conditions, including sample receipt, storage, testing, disposal, reporting, etc.Maintain accurate, up-to-date laboratory notebookOther projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.

 

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Education: B.S. degree in Biology or Biochemistry or equivalent experience

 

Knowledge Requirements:  
Method development, GLP, assay validation, enzyme immunoassays

Experience: 

3-5 years of laboratory experience in professional setting performing protein characterization and analysis using various biochemical and immunological methods in a GLP environment
