Inside Sales Engineer
1) PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE:
Inside Sales / Applications Engineer for leading distributor of Pumps, Mixers, and Fluid Process Handling Equipment in the Industrial and Municipal markets in Upstate NY.
Inside Sales / Applications Engineer activities include fielding customer inquiries; understanding and applying fluid handling equipment; preparing customer proposals; trouble-shooting and problem solving, supporting pre-order and post-order processes; and building relationships with customers and principals. This position requires a motivated individual with a high level of organization and technical expertise to sufficiently support internal and external customers. Essential characteristics for this position include excellent communication skills, teamwork, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
2) KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inside & Outside Sales Engineers work together to develop plans, strategies, tools, and work practices to drive sales and profitability by providing cost effective solutions to their customers. Specific roles and responsibilities of Inside Sales Engineers include:
· Product and market expertise.
· Effectively communicate with a broad array of customers including engineering, maintenance, and purchasing staff.
· Provide professional and prompt responses via phone, fax, email, in-person, etc.
· Review and evaluate technical specifications (industrial & municipal).
· Prepare quotations and proposals, and execute a follow-up process utilizing company tools and guidelines.
· Provide technical & administrative assistance to internal customers including sales, service, order entry, and parts staff.
· Maintain positive relationships with principals and establish effective marketing practices for their products.
· Keep an organized & resourceful work environment.
· Be a role model for constant learning and improving.
· Occasional travel for training or other business purposes.

4) SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Technical or Business degree required…Bachelors Preferred.
Training and experience with pumps and pump systems, controls, mechanical seals, and waste water process equipment preferred.
Computer skills: Microsoft Excel & Word required. Experience with other Microsoft products, pump related software, and data analysis preferred.
Customer Service, Negotiation, Presentation Skills, Product Knowledge, Client Relationships.
