Instructional Designer

In addition, this individual will be involved in the following:Conduct training needs assessment for client population. Design courses that employ adult learning principles to deliver training in an effective manner. Select and use a variety of techniques for determining instructional content and strategies. Create a design document that specifies learning objectives, measures of student learning, learning materials design specifications, and learning impact (e.g. business results). Design and develop interactive online training course using storyboards and/or scripts. Design and develop structured on-the-job or instructor-lead training courses. Evaluate the effectiveness of courseware. Evaluate and assess instruction and its impact. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the training curriculum by creating and implementing measures to track outcomes and ensure alignment to business objectives.QualificationsThe successful candidate is required to have a bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Training and Development or a related field. This individual must be able to apply business strategies and goals into the design of learning solutions that support the client population. Demonstrated skill in using a systematic instructional design process, which includes performing needs analysis, performance analysis, task analysis, performance assessment, and impact assessment is necesssary. Demonstrated ability to apply adult learning principles into the design of training is required. Demonstrated problem-identification, problem reporting and problem solving skills are essential. Must be familiar with developing internet and eLearning technologies. This candidate will possess working knowledge of using Articulate, Captivate, Trainersoft, Lectoria, or other course design and development software. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and graphic editing programs (e.g., Flash, Adobe Photoshop, Snagit Editor, etc.) is required. Project and time management skills-managing multiple priorities are necessary. Ability to think clearly, write concisely and communicate effectively, including being able to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms is essential. Good interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills are necessary. Experience working in a regulated environment, preferably medical equipment or pharmaceuticals, a plus. BS in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Training and Development, or related field.
