EducationB.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering

Previous ExperienceCross-functional project management Strong electro-mechanical systems background, including computer control and interaction Knowledge of fluid handling equipment Familiarity with machining and fabrication processes Design background strongly desired Optics knowledge is a plus Biotechnology industry exposure is a plus

ResponsibilitiesDesign mechanical components Manage hardware design projects from concept to validation/implementation Review, improve and approve mechanical designs of others Interact with external design consultants, contractors, and suppliers Modify and maintain prototype equipment Develop service and maintenance procedures for new and existing products

RequirementsMust demonstrate strong project management skills Must have strong written and verbal communication skills Must be able to read, interpret, and create mechanical and electrical drawings; solid CAD skills are strongly desired Must be able and willing to learn new things quickly and independently Must have intellectual flexibility to successfully handle a wide variety of tasks Must be creative enough to find solutions to difficult problems High self-motivation with proven abilities for both independent work and teamwork.  This includes a curiosity and drive to continuously seek self improvement.
