The Institutional District Manager is accountable for delivering sales quota, market share, and market share growth in an assigned area. Responsibilities include leading the District by directing the activities of an assigned sales team of up to 12 Institutional Sales Representatives. The DM ensures the execution of the company's business plan for the institutional market segment, which may include members of large hospital systems/IDNs, clinics and federal, teaching, city, and community hospitals. The Institutional DM coaches and develops a team of Institutional Sales Representatives who influence clinical and non clinical stakeholders within assigned institutions to support the use of Ortho McNeil Inc. and J&J products in the treatment of relevant disease states by applying in-depth clinical and business expertise, and effective institutional selling skills. The Institutional District Manager coaches staff to approach each customer from a total account management perspective, by leveraging resources appropriately, collaborating with business partners and accurately articulating the value proposition for the customer, including key stakeholders such as Quality Management, Case Management, Risk Management, Infection Control, and future emerging influencers. The Institutional DM is responsible for building relationships with key opinion leaders, hospital systems, Integrated Delivery Networks and other important Institutional Stakeholders within the District, interacting with them directly and maintaining the continuum of customer management. To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria: Excellent written and oral communication skills, a Bachelor's Degree, a valid driver's license issued in one of the 50 states and clean driving record, 6 or more years of direct selling experience to healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device, or healthcare industries, or large account development related experience. 2 years managing field sales force, or currently participating successfully in OMI's Management Development Program. Documented track record of sales results. Ability to travel as necessary or required, which may include up to 50%.
