The Provider Contract Analyst (Contract Financial Analyst) develops and maintains the organization’s provider network, resolves provider issues and serves as a resource for internal customers in regard to network pricing, provider selection and reimbursement issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

 

Develops and maintains the organization’s provider network for medical equipment, health services, and ancillary services; negotiates and implements contracts.

 

Manages current provider network by identifying and initiating service improvements, and increasing company profits.

 

Expands networks in response to new products and services by identifying and soliciting service providers.

 

Conducts provider and reimbursement training sessions for service delivery staff.

 

Analyzes pricing information and assists in preparing price quotes for current and/or potential customers.

 

Analyses purchasing data to determine cost effectiveness and feasibility; makes recommendations for new products to meet business objectives and customer needs.

 

Provides information and responds to inquiries from internal and external customers regarding contracts, pricing and providers.

 

Analyzes current and potential customers and negotiates specialized pricing strategies as required.

 

Maintains effective customer relations, researches and resolves provider network and reimbursement issues, and represents the organization at trade shows.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education, Training and/or Experience and Knowledge

 

Bachelor’s degree in business, health care or related field, with a minimum of one year contract negotiation experience and/or equivalent combination.

 

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (advance Excel and basic Access).

 

1 to 3 years of financial analysis experience.

 

Current knowledge of medical products and services available for injured workers.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 Previous experience in healthcare environment.
