Position Description:

Primary responsibilities are to place, maintain and expedite all purchases of requisition and supply based goods and services to meet Illumina’s supply inventory requirements in support of production and internal departmental requirements. Tasks and responsibilities:•Analyze and process incoming requisitions to meet requirements.•Manage supply based inventories, goods and services.•Work with all suppliers to assure on time delivery of quality products at the lowest cost.•Prepare and issue purchase orders, expedite deliveries, resolve payment and quality problems with suppliers. •Process returns and ensure proper credits are issued and received.•Maintain computerized purchasing system database, investigate inventory discrepancies and resolve delivery/receiving problems.•Interface with other departments to solve general business and technical problems regarding procured products, parts and services.All listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.Preferred educational background:•Bachelors degree is preferred,Preferred experiential background:•1-2 years of practical experience purchasing in a manufacturing/scientific research environment and/or or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or work experience,•Effective verbal and written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills,•Must have the ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations, •Strong Organizational skills, detail oriented,•Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, word processing, spreadsheets, etc. and•Ability to interface well with cross-functional teammates
