Job Description MSDS Specialist Position Summary: Develop MSDS’s for the life science research market for the Pierce, Endogen, Cellomics, and Searchlight brands.  Conduct hazard determination for new raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods. Duties will include data entry, optical manipulation of data, web maintenance and information research in the continuing development of Pierce products and raw material MSDS database and MSDS documents.  Additional requirements will be to use and implement the MSDS software to interact with other departments to develop and provide various forms and reports necessary to complete product labels and regulatory data.  Position will be required to work closely with new product development, manufacturing and provide support to internal and external customers and distributors regarding MSDS questions, document access and application of the MSDS software.  * Conducts hazard determinations for new raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods. * Provide internal and external customer support to inquiries. * Complete product master forms. * Create and maintain MSDS’s. * Approve product labels. * Classify products in compliance with DOT regulations. * Interact with internal and external customers to provide regulatory product support.Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Working knowledge of US hazard communication requirements.  Ability to critically review, with attention to detail, MSDS’s, label copy and other applicable safety data to ensure compliance to regulations.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.  Above average computer literacy and interpersonal skills required.
