Maintenance Tech II (Smithfield, RI)

Position Overview: The Maintenance Technician is responsible to perform general repairs and preventative maintenance activities to cGMP equipment, utility systems, and facilities as directed. Responsibilities: · Perform corrective and preventative maintenance activities as directed by management personnel. The incumbent will perform general maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures, approved practices, and/or direction of technical support personnel such as engineers or equipment suppliers. All maintenance activities will be conducted and documented in accordance with established quality systems. · Troubleshoot equipment related problems and offer repair solutions. The incumbent will diagnose malfunctioning equipment and be able to use their expertise to offer repair solutions. · Assist in the administration of the plant maintenance program. The incumbent will assist management as necessary in the administration of the maintenance program. This may involve gaining additional expertise with specific types of equipment or systems and writing maintenance procedures. Knowledge, skills and abilities: · Experience with multiple general maintenance skills such as mechanical, plumbing/pipe fitting, carpentry, instrumentation, etc. · The ability to diagnose and correct a wide array of mechanical or electrical equipment issues is required. · Good interpersonal skills are required, as is the ability to communicate well, both verbally and written. · The individual in this position is expected to represent Alexion Pharmaceutical interests, objectives and policies in a professional and responsible manner. Education Requirement: · A high school diploma is required. Formal technical training and advanced degrees are preferable. · 5-10 Years of applicable experience in a cGMP biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment is required.
