Maintenance Technician (2 positions available)
Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Department: Engineering
Reports To: Manager, Production Engineering
Summary: This individual is responsible for corrective and preventative maintenance, instrument calibration, equipment changeovers, troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment according to and in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). This individual must be able to work effectively within a team environment and be able to diagnose/troubleshoot process problems that are mechanical and/or electrical in nature.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (other duties may be assigned to meet business needs):
· This individual must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and has ability to multi-task and support several projects simultaneously.
· This individual will maintain communication with contractors and supply vendors.
· A knowledge of chemical fume hoods, drives, bearings, seals, gear boxes, pumps, valves, pressure regulating devices, WFI and purified water systems, chilled water system, steam systems, safety valves, HVAC systems, compressed air systems, gas systems, vial washing/filling/capping systems, Autoclaves, Dry heat ovens, and waste water treatment would be desired.
· A general knowledge executing protocols (IQ, OQ and PQ) for validating current, new and improved manufacturing equipment under minimal direction and preparing final review of test data/reports would be helpful.
· Perform other duties as required to meet team goals.
Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years work experience in a bio/pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
Detailed Skill Set:
· Knowledge of good documentation practices, aseptic technique and classified area gowning procedures.
· Strong organizational, technical, mechanical and communication skills are required.
· Must be computer literate.
· Candidate must demonstrate the ability to develop expertise in core job responsibilities, such as teamwork, leadership and the ability to maintain constructive relationships with personnel from various disciplines at all levels in the organization.
· Will be required to participate in off hour emergency coverage as needed.
· Should be able to climb a ladder, reach, bend, and lift loads up to 50 lbs.
· Demonstrated abilities and/or evidence of training in repair, operation, and trouble shooting of electromechanical process equipment and utility systems
· Experience with control systems, Allan Bradley systems preferred.
