Maintenance Technician, 2nd Shift

Position: Maintenance Technician, Second Shift

Department:   Facilities

Manager’s Title:  Maintenance or Operations Supervisor

Location: Edison

Summarize the primary function of the position:

Responsible for implementing facilities maintenance and repairing calibration system for the clean room operation and freezers. Also responsible for infrastructure, building and property maintenance and repairs.

Describe the major elements of the position in order of importance:

1.  Schedules, performs and documents equipment, building and property maintenance and repairs.

2.  Maintains HVAC and electrical system, amgega and temperature logs, and equipment preventive maintenance and calibration events.

3.  Documents and/or communicates deviation from standard operating procedures and performs corrective action, if necessary.

4.  Maintains applicable Standard Operating Procedures related to repairs, maintenance and calibration.

5.  Assists on special projects and performs additional duties as assigned.

6.  Takes rotating call for off-hour diagnosis and repair of facilities equipment and freezers.

7.  Responsible for daily tours of buildings, documenting and completing punch list repairs.

8.  Responsible for monitoring and generating reports concerning building management systems.

9.  Responsible for completing and tracking Facility work orders.

10.  On-call for building emergencies, power failures, adverse weather and other site impacting events out of hours.

11.  Works scheduled maintenance shutdowns throughout the year.

Job Qualifications (education, certification, experience, knowledge, skills, and physical requirements)

1.  High school degree.

2.  Minimum two years’ experience in mechanical, electrical, refrigeration or equipment maintenance.

3.  Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel; database skills.

4.  Knowledge of sterile technique helpful.

5.  NJ Boiler License – Black Seal within one year of hire.

6.  Experience with building automation systems helpful.

7.  Must be able to climb ladders and work on roof level equipment.

8.  Must be able to lift 50-77 lbs in performance of duty.
