Manager, 3rd Party Supply Chain
Actavis is a leader in the development, manufacture and sales of first-class generic pharmaceuticals with operations in 32 countries, products registered in more than 60 countries, a robust development pipeline and an aggressive acquisition strategy.
The incumbent is responsible for managing all 3rd party relationships in the United States focusing on manufacturing partnerships. The incumbent is responsible for providing commercial support to all functions with activities related to the 3rd party sector including business development, marketing, and finance and procurement activities. The incumbent will prepare, evaluate and implement alliance, business development, commercial, and procurement activities. Responsibilities will include the management of systems/processes in addition to individual projects, including systems designed to proactively monitor and improve partnership performance and value. The incumbent will develop and maintain organizational accountability both with 3rd party companies and internal departments to achieve Division 3rd party objectives. The incumbent will proactively manage cross-functional teams across the organization to include the areas of Research & Development, Technical Services, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Intellectual, Property, Business Development and Legal to ensure that Division objectives including completing post market filings are achieved in a timely and GMP complaint manner. The incumbent will develop and maintain relationships across all parts of the organization to facilitate timely and effective communication between all levels of the organization from first line supervision to divisional vice-presidents in order to ensure completion of Division 3rd party objectives. The incumbent will be the team leader in the implementation of Supply Chain systems at Elizabeth.
Qualifications
Prepares project time lines for products & projects within the 3rd party sector. Proactively manages projects and communicates information to team members to stay current with dynamic market conditions. Manages to assure compliance with 3rd party commercial and quality agreements. Monitors progress of commercial activities and manages to assure execution per business objectives.
· Plans and executes the delivery of product to Actavis as required by established sales forecasts and inventory levels.
· Proactively seeks out business development and procurement opportunities in line with business objectives. Represents Actavis in managing partnerships, negotiations, and dispute resolutions with 3rd parties.
· Facilities due diligence activities and participates in drafting agreements with 3rd parties. Responsible for contract administration and timely communication of key dates, activities and opportunities provided within 3rd party agreements to business leaders to facilitate commercial decision-making.
· Prepares, performs, and reviews financial and business analysis/data to assure efficient, cost competitive execution of technical projects, regulatory projects, and 3rd party production.
· Evaluates key documentation prepared by project teams & proactively monitors, and ensures clear, concise reporting of project status.
· Proactively manages cross-functional teams of technical personnel to assure efficient technical transfer of new products/processes to commercial operations.
· Enables project completion by facilitating the resolution of technical and non-technical barriers that surface during the course of any given project.
· Manages third party operations (external to the company) as related to the utilization of such an organization in the development and/or manufacture of a company product.
· Must stay informed with respect to pharmaceutical and chemical industry dynamics, major competitors and players, and trends.
· Prepares and tracks progress of timelines associated with the reimplementation of MFG PRO. Tracks, and reports on key deliverables/milestone dates. Follows up with responsible parties to ensure progress is on track. Engages al groups to ensure alignment on the project.
· Bachelor’s degree, Masters degree preferred.
· Minimum of 15 years pharmaceutical (or related) experience.
· Possesses a thorough understanding of pharmaceutical product development methodology from project inception through product launch.
· Demonstrates strong business acumen and is able to clearly communicate the business rationale that supports potential transactions.
· Demonstrates a high sense of urgency, and capable of working with minimal direct supervision.
· Demonstrates a strong knowledge of projects management principals; proven leadership ability; and proven interpersonal, communication, problem solving, presentation, and facilitation skills incumbent must be goal oriented, decisive, and able to demonstrate the ability to think strategically as well as tactically with respect to pharmaceutical product, process, and business development.
· Must demonstrate flexibility and versatility to manage complex cross-functional projects in the presence of changing priorities.
· Demonstrate strong computer skills using MS Office applications.
