Manager, Analytical Laboratory

Our Client is seeking a manager of the Analytical laboratory for their Central Virginia location.  Our client is a privately held global Company in the business of sustaining and improving the quality of life for the customers of their products. REQUIREMENTS: BS or MS with 7-11yrs of experience or a PhD with 4-8 yrs of experience in the pharmaceutical industryA minimum of 5 yrs of Management experience in an analytical and regulatory environment is required).In-depth understanding of concepts underlying analytical analyses and experiments, including wet chemistry techniques and instrumental analyses. Ability to create a standardized format or input data and to use, program computer applications to generate and/or process data and/or create documentsAbility to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems; ability to deal with non-verbal symbols (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.).Ability to read, interpret, and create required technical documents; ability to accurately report and communicate progress in group tasks in graphical, tabular, narrative, and/or verbal format; ability to effectively lead and motivateExperience working in a chemical or pharmaceutical industry preferredAbility to direct out of specification (OOS) investigations and review for accuracy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Basic responsibly for leading the development and implementation of all policies, processes, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and organizational effectiveness in management of the Quality Control Laboratory. This will entail:


1. Developing and implementing procedures and optimal infrastructure for the QC Laboratory to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, e.g., FDA, DEA, and EMEA.
2. Providing leadership and direction in the areas of organizational design, performance management, succession planning, leadership development, and training for the QC Laboratory.
3. Provide leadership for analysts of the quality improvement process to optimize productivity in and quality of work from the QC Laboratory.
4. Providing direction in the implementation of systems and processes to ensure analyst safety in all laboratory activities.
5. Ensures the timely and accurate testing and recording of all related chemicals.
6. Creating infrastructure and provide the vision and direction for Quality Control Laboratory functions, ensuring optimal efficiency in the testing, reporting, and final approval processes.
7. Serving as the liaison for QC Laboratory with Production, Supply Chain and Customer Service departments.
