Manager/Director - New Product Development - Healthcare

Would you like to help take a company to its next level?  Our client is a growing and profitable Biomedical Disposable Products portfolio company of a Chicago-based Private Equity firm, who acquired the initial product several years ago from a leader in the Healthcare industry. Since the acquisition, management and contractors have expanded the product line through diligent research and internal product development activities.  Currently focused on opportunities to knock off products with expiring patents, we need a dedicated Product Development Manager to lead the identification, development and commercialization of new products and to complete the development of the in-progress product. Key priorities will be to: Support the development of a new product strategy for the company Complete the development and commercialization of a new (knock off) product Effectively manage current product lines and projects Identify, source and lead the development of new product opportunities Provide support to other projects as identified We are specifically looking for a “shirt sleeves manager” who enjoys a small team environment and an entrepreneurial atmosphere.  Additionally, we seek (preferably) an Electrical Engineer with 5+ years Product Development experience and a demonstrated record of achievement in identifying, developing and commercializing products in the Medical Device or Disposable Hospital Products sectors.  Of particular interest is someone who understands the requirement for development of new products that are integral to the workings of other supplier products. Exposure to the hospital disposables or medical device verticals and new product development is required, along with knowledge and experience in the FDA filing process.
