Manager, Employee Relations

SAIC-Frederick, Inc., the operations and technical support contractor for the NCI-Frederick, has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Employee Relations.  Responsible for administering the Employee Relations Program, providing counsel and assistance to employees and management on employee relations matters through a uniform and equitable application of organizational policies and procedures.  Responds to concerns registered through the corporate Ethics hotline or outside agencies.  Provides training to managers related to employee relations and conflict management.  Ensures that performance management policies are applied consistently and appropriately throughout the organization. Conducts exit interviews and evaluates trends. Oversees the workplace accommodation program and the orientation follow-up program.  REQUIRED SKILLS:  Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Human Resources or relevant field, or 4 (four) years of related experience in lieu of degree.  Master’s degree preferred.  Foreign educated candidates who have completed part or all of their education outside of the United States must have their foreign education evaluated by an SAIC-approved accrediting organization to assure that it has met the equivalency of the qualifications of degree work in the United States.  In addition to the education requirements, a minimum of five (5) years of relevant Human Resources experience is required.  Ability to work independently and perform in-depth situation analysis utilizing effective problem solving techniques.  Demonstrated skill in solving complex employee relations issues, consulting appropriately with all involved parties.  Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with all levels of staff throughout the organization.  Knowledge of appropriate federal, state and local employment laws and government regulations.  Demonstrated knowledge of interview and counseling techniques as well as training techniques.  This position is subject to obtaining a Public Trust Clearance. Excellent compensation package accompanies our position.
