Job Description/Responsibilities:
· The Associate Director, Marketing Insights is responsible for managing all market information needs for key franchise areas in a manner that demonstrably impacts and improves current and future business decisions.
· The Associate Director, Marketing Insights will be responsible for planning, obtaining, and the delivery of high-quality, cost-efficient market information and insights that answer key business questions, using a range of tools and techniques, including primary research, secondary research, syndicated data, and internal data-mining.
· The Associate Director, Marketing Research will serve as a core member of the Global Strategic Marketing franchise team.
· They will act as a resource to the franchise marketing teams and other key stakeholders (including Commercial Operations, Strategic Planning, Business Development, and R&D) by delivering well-executed, synthesized and actionable responses to key business issues and questions.
· They will actively develop and deploy innovative or adaptive approaches and techniques for obtaining valuable and deep insights into the external market.
· Qualified candidates must be proficient with a broad range of primary research techniques, secondary data retrieval and manipulation, and must be able to use these skills and tools to cogently address complex business issues and questions.
· The incumbent must be able to demonstrate the ability to analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources to bring added value and insight to business decisions.
· He/she must be able to independently recommend and develop creative customized/non-standard research solutions to more complex, multi-faceted business issues.
· He/she must be highly experienced market research professional within the pharmaceutical industry, demonstrating
expertise in at least 3 of the following functional areas: (1) Broad-range experience with both qualitative and quantitative market research techniques and methodologies. (2) In-depth use of a wide range of secondary data sources. (3) Hands-on development of market/sales forecasting models and techniques. (4) In-depth experience using and mining sophisticated competitive intelligence sources, tools, techniques, and databases. (5) Extensive experience in executing market research and/or competitive intelligence on a global basis.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree in the natural sciences or business administration is required.
· Qualified candidates will have at least 4 to 6 years experience in the pharmaceutical market research industry, with broad general business acumen (including financial skills).
· They must have the ability to work with and grasp complex scientific and medical information and data.
· Be able to work in a fast- paced environment with a range of technically and culturally diverse people.
· They must have proven success in communicating with senior-level management.
· Qualified candidates will be able to work in a cross-cultural environment and have the ability to maintain a global business perspective.
· We are seeking candidates that will be able to influence key constituents by building and defending cogent business arguments, challenging assumptions, and gaining consensus of opinion.
· Establish and manage strong working relationships, both formal and informal, with key customers and business partners, both internal and external.
· Demonstrate a strong understanding of the business and key business issues.
· Qualified candidates will be able to set work plan priorities in line with key business priorities.
· Demonstrate proficiency in communicating with and persuading others, in both oral and written forms.
· The incumbent must be able to make decisions and tackle problems directly.
· Assume responsibility for own role and actions.
· Respond resourcefully to change and ambiguity and to effectively pursue appropriate learning and self- development opportunities.
· Must be fluent in English (both verbal and written).
