There is no better time to join us! As a Manager - Principal Investigation in Covance's Madison facility, your primary duties will include, but not be limited to:  Manages a multi-disciplinary team. Performs general supervisory duties including full range of recruitment and performance evaluation activities, salary administration, staffing decisions, and executes Affirmative Action goals in the department. Responsible for the formulation, development, and implementation of plans, policies and procedures within department guidelines to improve the work quality, efficiency, productivity, and expense control of assigned groups. Assesses and implements new technology and automation to reduce errors and/or improve productivity. Assists in scheduling project activities for assigned groups. Effectively works with North American counterparts to ensure consistency of processes within Chemistry units. Ensures adequate communication among group members and department personnel. Assists in preparing cost estimates and metrics for laboratory and sample accession staff. Works with Principal Investigator management staff as well as other departments regarding study coordination activities. Works with staff to develop training plans, and ensures sufficient training for staff. Meets with clients as necessary. Our ideal candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications: 8-10 years of related work experience including a minimum of 3 year in laboratory management. BA or BS degree. Experience may be substituted for education. Computer literacy Excellent attention to detail. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Good presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Leadership/managerial skills. Good organizational and time management skills Knowledge of appropriate regulatory agency guidelines.
