Interfaces with Marketing, Manufacturing, and New Business Development to develop new products and identify potential opportunities. The individual will develop and ensure implementation of multiple new product development plans and programs for the business unit. Monitors smooth execution of plans and programs at lower levels and cross-functionally as well as allocate proper level of resources to facilitate attainment of project goals within established timelines and budgets. The individual will develop strategies to optimize all phases of the product development cycle to ensure design quality, compliance to regulatory / industry standards, and customer satisfaction. The individual will also make recommendations to streamline and to increase robustness of the new product development process. Ensures adherence to design control guidelines and intellectual property coverage. The individual will collaborate closely with marketing and new business development to identify market needs and set portfolio direction for the business unit and will participate and provide input in the evaluation of new technologies. The individual will work directly with physicians to obtain product feedback and to investigate current and future needs. And ensure that customer feedback is applied to the design of new products. This individual will oversee technical execution of projects and review and approve technical documentation to verify compliance to technical specifications and standards. This individual will provide technical advice when required and facilitate resolution of complex technical and operational problems as well as promote innovation initiatives for new products and ideas. The individual will Manage the work of managers and/or lead engineers of projects and actively coach and teach direct reports to foster their personal and professional development. BS Degree with an Engineering discipline is required. MS Degree is desirable. Candidate must have a minimum of 9 to 12 years of related industry experience. Medical Device experience is required. Project Management experience is required. Previous experience working with Process development is required. Strong interpersonal skills both written and verbal are required. Strong people development skills are required. Six Sigma experience is preferred. Position is based in Warren, NJ and will require 20 to 25% of both Domestic and International travel.
