Manager of Project Planning and Contract Administration - (Job Number: 0800269) DescriptionManager of Project Planning and Contract Administration is responsible for all the project planning, outsourcing and contracting activities of the department. Leads the assessment and selection of qualified vendors and contractors. Be instrumental in the training of department personnel and responsible for the preparation of contracts with external parties by negotiating closure of agreements via direct contact with both the vendors and J&J Corporate Law. Supports and advises department personnel in the contracting process for specific clinical trials (e.g., RFP to final contract, clinical trial agreements, PO agreements, etc.). Assists department personnel in optimizing vendor/supplier relationships by monitoring team dynamics and recommending appropriate interventions to improve team functioning. Have overall accountability for department business planning, metrics, invoice and resource management. Bachelor degree required. Master degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, biology, chemistry, nursing, medical technology) is preferred. Minimum 6 years experience in the pharmaceutical, device or CRO industry is required. A thorough understanding of clinical research in pharmaceutical, device, diagnostic, or CRO industry is required. 2 or more years experience with implementing and negotiating service provider contracts related to clinical research (e.g., CROs, laboratory, clinical trial agreements, etc.) is required. Previous project management, business/budget planning, metrics and resource management is required. A thorough knowledge of the contracting processes with an understanding of the legal language is preferred. A working knowledge of ICH, GCP, FDA regulatory guidelines and clinical trial processes are required. Leadership, influencing, and financial management skills are preferred. Planning and decision-making skills are required. Strong formal and informal communications skills (both written and oral) are required. Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Outlook is required. Position may require domestic / international travel up to 20%. Apply Now
