Manufacturing Assistant

Use your ideas to create a brighter future in the development of gene therapy products to treat a variety of cancers.  Introgen Therapeutics in Houston, Texas is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Manufacturing Assistant.

The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks associated with the production of sterile biological products for the treatment of life threatening conditions.  The Manufacturing Assistant will be responsible for carrying out production processes in state of the art GMP facilities, with tasks including operation of cell culture bioreactors, large scale purification by ion exchange chromatography, and aseptic filling.  Documentation during the production of Biopharmaceuticals is the cornerstone of GMP and the successful candidate will be required to contribute to the development of clear and concise written batch records and SOPs.

A Bachelor’s Degree in the life/physical (laboratory) sciences, or in an engineering discipline is required, no exceptions.  Also essential is the demonstration of excellent communication and cognitive skills, and the ability to work as a team member.  Attention to detail, the ability to follow written instructions, strong critical thinking skills and careful documentation practices are a must.  Experience in laboratory practices, and specific experience in the medical biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
