Manufacturing Engineer II

Work with other engineers to provide accurate, timely resolution of issues associated with the manufacturing floor.Support Calibration/Maintenance department as required for resolution of complex problems with production equipment.Major Responsibilities:Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.Implement, document, and maintain controlled, repeatable production processes. Create and upgrade operational procedures used by manufacturing personnel to perform production tasks. Calculate expected equipment throughput and recommend changes or improvements to equipment. Identify, investigate, and resolve production yield issues. Review production yield information and determine primary factors affecting product quality and yield. Interface with other departments and suppliers to address root cause. Assist in development of qualification and validation protocols. Participate in and/or lead qualification and validation activities.QualificationsBasic Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.5 to 10 years of experience in a mid to high volume manufacturing environment. Medical device manufacturing experience desirable but not required. Minimum 5 years direct experience in writing and implementing manufacturing and/or qualification procedures. Ability to clearly and accurately write reports documenting technical activities such as process steps, equipment operation, or qualification results. Master's Degree or minimum of 3 years experience in the design, fabrication, assembly, or maintenance of production tools and fixtures is required.Qualifications:Preferred Qualifications: BS in engineering is required to ensure appropriate technical knowledge to resolve technical problems relating to assembly techniques, material properties, and process repeatability.Abbott welcomes and encourages diversity in our workforce.
