Position Description:

Job duties include but are not limited to:• Provide support to instrument manufacturing with system level technical expertise in order to meet production and quality goals• Ability to perform system analysis and troubleshooting of next generation Genome Analyzer• Participate on Core Project Teams to release quality products into manufacturing and incorporate new designs into life sciences instruments• Define and develop resource requirements for projects working directly with project owners and stakeholders• Identify and implement process improvements in the manufacturing and testing of instruments and sub-systems• Develop and implement changes to products using good manufacturing practice change control procedures• Develop work instructions and required documentation for assembly and test methods. • Perform and direct tasks to support successful conformance to schedules• Coordinate a team of engineers and technicians to support the build and test activities of new products and assemblies in Instrument Operations. The team will also support the build and test of engineering pilot runs• Collect and maintain detailed and accurate records for the device history and configuration files for all work performed during pilot and validation runs• Create and maintain detailed project plans and schedules for team members, provide status reports and make presentations to stakeholdersEducation and Experience:• Minimum BS degree in Engineering or a relevant field• 8+ years working in a manufacturing and/or engineering role with life sciences and laboratory instrumentation. Instrumentation or Life Sciences experience preferred• Hands-on experience in a technical role supporting engineers, technicians and assemblers in a manufacturing environment• Leadership skills required. Able to work on cross-functional teams while directing tasks and activities of manufacturing team members• Effective interpersonal skills and multi-tasking capabilities• Excellent communication skills: Written, Oral and Listening • Six Sigma knowledge with FDA/GMP experience a plus• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including data collection and statistical analysis tools• Expertise with 2D and 3D Cad modeling. Solid Works a plus• Demonstrated use and understanding of MRP systems, Product Data Management systems and Change Control processes. Agile experience a plus• Work experience in the Life Sciences or Biotech Industry a plus
