Manufacturing Technician - Weekend, Night Shift (4 positions)

Department: Manufacturing

 

Reports To: Manufacturing Supervisor

 

Summary: Perform the preparation, formulation and dispensing of pharmaceutical products according to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and utilizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in controlled/aseptic environments. Other duties to include the washing and sterilizing of equipment for production as well as the inspection and final packaging of product. Assist in Batch Record and SOP review. Comply with all Safety Guidelines (OSHA, NIH, MA DPH). Works under limited supervision and follows ISO, cGMP and FDA procedures.

 

This position involves weekend coverage (Thursday through Sunday or Friday through Sunday) rotating 12 hour night shifts with a general schedule of 4 nights on, 3 nights off one week followed by 3 nights on and 4 nights off the next week.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (other duties may be assigned to meet business needs):

 

·  Prepare solutions and equipment for use in the preparation of a commercial pharmaceutical product.

·  Wash and sterilize equipment and components

·  Document data in batch records to ensure product is made in accordance with specifications

·  Prepare equipment for use in production

·  Formulate and dispense product

·  Inspect the product by performing visual checks.

·  Assist in filling out equipment logs

·  Assist in facility and equipment cleaning

·  Assist in reviewing batch records and SOPs as necessary.

 

Requirements:  Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline and 1 to 3 years experience or a high school diploma, associates degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years commercial pharmaceutical manufacturing experience.

·  Experience working with chemicals/pharmaceuticals

·  Experience working with aseptic techniques

·  Required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload

·  Effective communication and interpersonal skills

·  Excellent written/verbal communication skills

·  Basic math and writing skills, Attention to details

·  Ability to inspect small products

·  Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) training

·  Must be willing to work the schedule described above
