Market Development Manager, Pharmaceutical Ingredients

At Management Recruiters International—The Merwin Group, we specialize in the placement of outstanding talent in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and scientific industries. Our global client provides best-of-class products to the pharmaceutical industry that are complemented by extensive value-added services.  Reporting to the Global Business Manager, this new position is responsible for Market Development in North America.   The Market Development Manager provides marketing expertise to support business growth and development and requires active participation in the strategic/tactical planning process.  Primary Responsibilities: Set and implement regional market development action plans.  Drive the actions of the field force through the regional sales managers. Launch new products as applicable.  Identify, understand and translate regional market trends. Interface with the regional General Manager, sales and technical management. Actively involved in the continuous training of the field force. Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor degree required in a technical (i.e. chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical science) discipline and/or marketing field.  MBA or MS is preferred. Minimum 3 years experience in a pharmaceutical sales and/or marketing role. Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical sales and marketing core capabilities.  Pharmaceutical formulation knowledge a plus. Excellent planning and project management skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to travel 30-35%.
