Position Description:
Due to our success and rapid growth, we are looking for an experienced Market Manager to oversee all marketing, advertising and promotional activities for our Beadarray System. This newly created position will have responsibility for the worldwide market success of Illumina's Beadarray system. In addition this person is expected to establish marketing strategies, perform customer research, evaluate market conditions, collect competitor data and implement marketing plan changes as needed.The individual will work within a multi-functional organization interacting with various product teams, corporate marketing team, sales, engineering, and manufacturing departments to build market-driven solutions ensuring successful product launches. This Market Manager position requires both strategic and tactical market planning elements to grow and expand Illumina's Beadarray system product.Responsibilities:• Responsible for the marketing of Illumina Beadarray Instrumentation to the life science industry.• Demonstrates technical marketing skills, product and application knowledge of the microarray applications• Develops annual marketing plan in conjunction with the commercial and R&D organization, which will focus on meeting organizational objectives. • Manage a Product Manager• Delivery of all marketing activity within agreed budget. • To manage all aspects of print production, campaigns and outbound marketing activities. • Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities. • Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers. • Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, Customer solutions (Tech Support/Field Application Staff) and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning. • Developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute. • Ownership over products' gross margins and revenue targets to meet the company's business plan• Provide key support and training to Sales and participate in the selling process for all dealsRelationships and Roles:• Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees. • Build trust, value others, communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on the customer, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity. • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values. • Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments. Job Specifications:• Masters Degree in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Physics or equivalent is preferred. PhD a plus.• MBA is desirable.• 4-6 years of Product Marketing experience in the life science industry or with instrumentation. • Experience with enterprise software solutions and mid-size organizations. • Extensive experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives.• Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professional• Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
