Marketing Research Analyst
The Market Research Manager has strategic influence within the organization by managing and providing the information and intelligence to drive critical business decisions. The position will be responsible for leading the collection and interpretation of primary and secondary research and will provide strategic recommendations on the direction of current and future products. The person will also be responsible for managing market research studies/projects from inception to completion including, but not limited to, identifying the most appropriate market research firm for each study, designing the studies, assisting with the development of the market research tools needed, analyzing and interpreting the data, making recommendations and presenting the findings to the appropriate personnel. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: - Meet with multi-functional teams for the primary purpose of identifying information and data needs. In addition, the person in this position must be able to anticipate future needs and provide teams with strategic recommendations. - Proficiency in secondary data analysis using industry sales/usage databases purchased by Genomic Health (i.e., NDC, IMS, Verispan, Tandem, DaVinci etc.). Must be knowledgeable of all other available industry databases in terms of: relevance to our products, collection methodology, sampling, coverage, etc.) - Utilize secondary research methods and industry resources (i.e. syndicated reports, web-sites, Redbook, etc.) to provide competitive intelligence, ad hoc information etc. Must know which resources to turn to and understand the caveats associated with them. - Develop deep understanding of marketing in the diagnostic industry and how market research is used in product commercialization and lifecycle management. - Develop market research plans for both commercial and pipeline products. - Manage and design both qualitative and quantitative market research for commercial and pipeline products. Must have market research experience in all stages of product life cycle (i.e., pre-launch, launch, growth, maturity, decline). - Utilize secondary data sources to provide market assessments on business development deals and manage and design any primary market research needed. - Assist in future department development (i.e., hiring, operating procedures, development planning, training, etc.) ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - Prefer working knowledge of oncology. - Strong analytical, organization and communication skills required. - Fully proficient in software applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. - Demonstrates teamwork by routinely facilitating the exchange of ideas. - Demonstrates the ability to bring ideas to action; unrestrained thinking. - Demonstrates the ability to manage projects from inception to completion. - Demonstrates ability to think strategically. - Demonstrates ability to develop and implement market research plans. - Demonstrates ability to proactively drive the market research planning for assigned brand teams. - Demonstrates leadership and the ability to mentor and train future junior positions REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS - 4 year University degree in Business, or Biology/Chemistry/Statistics with some core business courses. - Minimum of 6 years work experience in market research in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech/ Diagnostic Industry If interested, please apply online at http://track.jobviper.com/ViewJob.asp?id=491549-3-833 Reference Code: 1226 View all "Genomic Health" jobs
