Mass Spec Product Sales Specialist - Small Molecule Industrial

Champion the Bruker range of Mass Spectrometry products for small molecule applications through expert support of sales activities, demonstrations, collaborative work, and presentations. Enhance the company position in the Pharmaceutical and Industrial marketplaces through training and support of new and existing customers. The position involves frequent travel within the USA and throughout the Americas. Candidates must be able to fulfill this requirement and also be eligible to work in the US.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conducts high level presentations at conferences and customer sites

• Provides expert support of sales staff on customer visits

• Performs scientific work with prospective customers to generate interest, provide justification for purchases, and build relationships prior to, and during the sales process

• Conducts demonstrations of bioinformatics software

• Provides scientific assistance to customers, including site visits and telephone support

• Provides support for the other application scientists and engineers working in small molecule applications

 

Requirements:

 

PhD in Life or Analytical Science with postdoctoral experience in industry.

 

Considerable expertise in Mass Spectrometry applied to Pharmaceutical discovery and development and a good understanding of modern commercial applications of exact mass LC-MS/MS techniques.

 

A wide understanding of Pharma applications, general knowledge in Proteomics and its role in the post-genomic era including biomarker validation and clinical relevance.

 

   

A very high degree of scientific credibility and ability to discuss and persuade at an academic level.

Self-motivation is essential as is a willingness to work with others toward a shared goal.

Well organized and able to decide priorities in a rapidly changing commercial environment.

 

A high standard of verbal and written English is a prerequisite.

Ability and willingness to travel as some travel will be required.
