Material Planner - Inventory and Logistic Mgmt

We're part of a team that's making a difference in the quality of people's lives.Think What's Possible.The Material Planner has the primary responsibility to be a liaison between the Marketing Communication Managers and the production department to assure the timely availability of materials to the distribution center. He/she will work closely with the Distribution Manager to assure the timely distribution of materials to the field organization. This colleague is also responsible to monitor the usage and inventory levels of promotional material and serve as catalyst for appropriate order quantities, re-order notification & destruction of obsolete materials. The Material Planner will be responsible to ensure that materials in inventory comply with regulatory mandates. Also, responsible for supporting field inquiries and ad hoc requests for promotional material.Work with the Marketing Communication Managers to ensure timely transfer of distribution instruction for brands supported. Lead semester quantity planning meetings with brands. Drive process to for determining appropriate promotional material order quantities. Work closely with print production colleagues to ensure timely availability of materials into distribution channel. Ensures timely accurate distribution of materials to field representatives.Set up monthly inventory meetings with corresponding Marketing Communication Manager, run and analyze inventory reports. Administer final inventory disposition (i.e. reorder, destroy, adjust max qty levels, etc.) Monitor receipts of promotional materials to ensure proper quantity and banding are received. Work with Production Specialist to rectify any discrepancies.Monitor the semester promotional planning timeline and the progress of the development and approval of the promotional materials to ensure timely delivery. Work closely with Distribution Manager in coordinating semester/special shipments. Ensure that materials in warehouse comply with Novartis regulatory guidelines (i.e. approval prior to ship, re-review, mandatory destruction). Identify those items that do not meet regulatory requirements and work with respective colleagues on disposition.Support field inquiries and requests. Investigate and resolve field issues that pertain to literature.Manage the distribution of materials for field ad hoc literature requests (regional convention / supplemental) in conjunction with marketing supplied guidelines.Monitor rep new hire / transfers to ensure timely distribution of new hire literature.Participate on teams to continuously improve processes and seek ways to use the electronic medium within Commercial Strategy & Operations, to increase overall efficiency and effectiveness.Qualifications1 - 4 years experience in materials management, inventory management, expediting and servicing the field sales organization. Experience in the logistics surrounding the production of promotional material in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus. Good communication skills.Bachelor s degree. Five or more years experience in either a supply chain, marketing or sales operation position that serviced the field sales organization. Inventory management experience. Understanding of the logistics surrounding the production of promotional material. Experience in materials management and expediting. Strong Customer focus, exceptional communication skills.
