Materials Control Manager

Department: Manufacturing

 

Reports To: Executive Director of Manufacturing

 

Summary: Oversee all purchasing activities and inventory processes through approved vendors while maintaining high quality in a current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) environment. Select, develop, and use a Materials Requirements Planning system and other analytical tools to manage inventory levels. Oversee inventory flows. Work under limited supervision drawing on previous experience, good judgment and standard procedures.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (other duties may be assigned to meet business needs):

 

·  Ensure that enough raw material inventory is available through the use of a MRP system for production runs. Minimize overall inventory levels while ensuring material availability.

·  Work with production group to identify material needs

·  Manage all aspects for storage for manufacturing. Set up and monitor systems for material workflows. Ensure warehouse meets all cGMP standards.

·  Interact with Quality groups, process engineers, and manufacturing  groups as necessary to maintain the production schedule and produce a quality product

·  Oversee the purchase of all materials, supplies, capital equipment for manufacturing, ensuring best quality and price.

·  Supervise Materials Control Technician

 

Requirements:  Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline and 5+ years experience in a commercial cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. In addition the candidate should have 1 to 2 years experience in leading/supervising a manufacturing team
