Medical Device Technician opening with excellent benefits

We have an opening for a Service Technician (full time) to work on medical devices at our Fremont location. This position needs someone who is able to perform periodic maintenance and troubleshooting/repair for these devices (someone capable of diagnosing electronic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems to the board level, at a minimum). An electronics degree or the equivalent is needed for this position. We also need this person to be willing to work in a flexible work environment (we are a very small team), help out with general warehousing and also be willing to make a local delivery if the need arises.

A: Purpose and Scope

The Service Technician is responsible for mechanical and/or electrical testing of medical devices and products, as well as general test equipment maintenance.

B. Responsibilities

The Service Technician is responsible for equipment maintenance and service according to the guidelines and policies established by the company or the equipment manufacturer.  The Service Technician documents and records equipment service and maintenance for devices and products; calibrates and maintains equipment; and performs general service department maintenance. The Service Technician is also responsible for complying with quality systems procedures, as well as performs other work within the RSC as necessary.



JOB REQUIREMENTS:

A. Education and Training

The Service Technician should have completed at least a technical (2 year) college degree program, with a concentration in electronics, or equivalent military training in electronics/electromechanical repair.  Two years plus of related technical experience is desired, but recent graduates will be considered based on course work and grades.

B. Technical Requirements

The Service Technician is required to complete a supervised training program as well as read and understand any pertinent training, documentation and procedures.  Understanding of electromechanical and pneumatic systems, and their maintenance and repair is necessary. 

C. Experience

Previous experience working in a regulated environment is desired, two to three years experience in a similar position, or as a hospital bio-medical technician is required.
