Drive the strategic design, execution, and interpretation of oncology clinical development studies through the incorporation of various imaging modalities (PET, MRI, CT, ect) Actively participate in the development, negotiation and management of agreements with CROs, academic centers, and other vendors; identify and document service requirements including integration with existing internal and external programs; establish service level expectations with protocol team and communicate to CRO. Lead and manage the efforts of all key functional departments to perform all project-related activities according to project milestones and timelines in a manner consistent with the companys clinical trial process. Collaborate with CROs and academic centers to ensure project timelines, resource needs, and budgets meet company expectations. Devise and implement global strategies and clinical development plans for drug candidates. Programs must address the key scientific and clinical issues, as well as the specific needs of global regions that are participating in the project. Evaluate clinical imaging data as related to protocol objectives. Interpret data and make recommendations to oncology clinical development leadership and general R&D management on the potential of each oncology candidate winning regulatory approval. Develop and implement information and communications approaches to promote collaboration and project success: effectively communicate project-related information; plan, conduct and facilitate meetings and presentations; plan and communicate to team members study specific tasks and priorities for projects. Perform related duties as directed or assigned by supervisorQualifications" MD degree. Preferable US licensed/board certified Radiologist or Nuclear Medicine Physician." Familiarity with at least one major imaging modality (PET or MRI) in a clinical environment " Working knowledge of clinical trial process: understanding how to design clinical development protocols, developing queries and analytical tables, analyzing and interpreting data" Knowledge of GCP and FDA requirements" Direct drug development experience is a definite plus" Experience in handling sensitive data, including understanding legal and ethical issues about data confidentiality and privacy of medical information" Ability to manage and lead meetings; experience managing cross functional protocol teams " Innovation: creates, embraces and uses cutting edge scientific and technological advances to meet business requirements" Judgment: evidence of good judgment in assessing opportunities that technology development could bring to clinical and in vivo medical research" Strong, professional interpersonal skills including ability to communicate effectively with people individually and in groups; experience establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external team members; ability to manage stressful situations" Strong presentation skills including the ability to: field and respond to questions; adjust approach and content to last minute changes; present in various formats (slides, video, speaking) and delivery methods (teleconference, video conference, web cast, panel, platform, office demonstration)" Experience participating on teams with shared responsibility for outcomes and decision-making; operate across matrix comfortably; establish expectations and team roles; develop and implement communication and follow-up approaches; resolve conflicts Novartis is committed to embracing and leveraging diverse backgrounds.
