Medical Director / Sr Medical Director (Pain)

POSITION DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Senior Medical Director/Medical DirectorDepartment: Clinical Research & Medical Affairs BASIC FUNCTIONAs an active member of the development team, develop clinical strategy for assigned clinical programs to meet corporate goals and objectives in accordance with ICH guidelines, applicable regulatory requirements, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).  JOB RESPONSIBILITIES· Develop strategy, clinical plans, protocols, and budgets and identify suitable investigators and consultants for one or more projects. · Oversee clinical study conduct, insuring that studies are carried out in accordance with the Clinical Development Plan, Good Clinical Practice and SOPs. · Accurately interpret and communicate clinical trial results orally or via written documents · Assure timely completion and quality and accuracy of study reports and manuscripts. · Direct and assist internal staff, CROs, and consultants as required. · Provide input for clinical budgets for assigned projects. · Organize, manage and direct the activities of the clinical team established to take primary responsibility for completing the clinical development project. · Inform management of clinical team activities through written reports and review meetings. · Interact with Commercial Organization to insure a smooth transition from development to commercialization of assigned projects. · Provide leadership for training program. · Actively participate in the development of SOPs, policies, departmental standards and other process improvement efforts.  REQUIRED SKILLS· Develop and implement strategy, clinical plans and protocols for one or more projects. ·  Oversee clinical study conduct and assure timely completion, accuracy and completeness of data collection and study reports. ·  Demonstrated leadership experience ·  Extensive knowledge of FDA/ICH regulations/guidelines; previous interaction with regulatory agencies on clinical issues ·  Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills ·  Ability to work effectively in a team environment ·  Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
