Medical Doctor (Part-Time) is Needed for one of the World's Leading Pharmaceutical Companies

Biomat USA, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Grifols is seeking a Medical Doctor to work as a consultant to be the Medical/Laboratory Director for its donor center in the South Bend, IN area.

 

Biomat USA, Inc. operates 63 Plasma Donor Centers within the USA.  These state of the art facilities collect blood-plasma from paid donors to manufacture and create life-saving pharmaceutical products for patients who suffer from bleeding disorders, immune system deficiencies, burns and shock. 

 

Job Profile:

 

The Medical Doctor will provide medical coverage, advice, and assistance in donor issues of safety, health, and suitability.  This physician will work at the donor center at least 1 day a week (for 2 hours) while being available via phone for the remaining business days of operations for the center.  The physician will be responsible for overseeing the certification and training of the medical staff (nurses and EMTs) as it pertains to the donor assessment surveys and standard operating procedures (SOP).  Also the doctor will oversee and review the medical and laboratory procedures of the center in regards to the evaluation, screening and immunization of the donors.The ability to interact with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds is required.

 

Qualifications:

 

Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Indiana

Must be licensed M.D. or D.O.

CPR certification must be current

Management and leadership skills is a plus

Previous work experience in a donor center or laboratory is highly preferred

 

Physical requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods of time
