Medical Information Advisor (CVM)

We're part of a team that's making a difference in the quality of people's lives.Think What's Possible.Coordinate information flow from internal and external sources to facilitate the dissemination of accurate, timely, consistent, and balanced information to internal and external customers in the Cardiovascular and Metabolism (CVM) Therapeutic Area. Customers include external healthcare professionals, internal Novartis personnel (e.g., Brand Team, Clinical Safety & Epidemiology, sales force, Scientific Operations, Global Medical Communication peers) and sometimes consumers/patients. Research and respond to written and oral inquiries from internal and external customers. Proactively develop standard response documents, create unique responses, and revise/update existing documents in database. Receive, document, and report spontaneous reports of possible adverse drug reactions. Participate in sales training, medical promotional review (i.e., Promotional Review Committee), medical product teams, and other special projects, including formulary dossier development and maintenance. The candidate must be able to do the following. Search, evaluate, and summarize the published medical and scientific literature. Work independently yet ensure strategic alignment of information with key internal stakeholders and experts, as necessary. Identify emerging medical trends, marketplace issues (e.g., Medical Inquiry Trends, Business Intelligence) and quality assurance issues and share with appropriate Novartis personnel. Participate in the creation of, and ensure adherence to, departmental and corporate policies and quality standards. PRINCIPALS ONLY!QualificationsPharmD, healthcare-related PhD, or MD is required with significant industry or related medical information experience preferred. Post-graduate specialty training is desirable. Customer-oriented approach and ability to effectively work in cross-functional teams. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, pharmacotherapeutics, and laboratory diagnostic tests. Knowledge of drug information processes and adverse event reporting regulations a must. Computer literacy is required. Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills. At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a drug information setting is preferred. Previous experience in the Cardiovascular and/or Metabolism Therapeutic Areas is preferred.
