Medical Program Financial Specialist II

Smith Hanley Consulting Group is looking for a Medical Program Financial Specialist II (MPFS)  Minimum Requirements: MPFS II, BS degree in appropriate scientific or financial discipline. Minimum of 2 years and /or equivalent competencies in a relevant business setting. A working knowledge of the clinical development process with one year experience and /or equivalent competencies in financial administration is desirable. Excellent communication skills, customer focused strong negotiation and project management /organizational skills, a working knowledge of PCs and database management is desired.The MPFS will: 1. Support the financial management of IISP by developing and maintaining a direct working relationship with the Global Research Specialists, Company Research Lab Financial Specialist Administrator, paralegals, finance departments, Company subsidiary offices and external customers. 2. Review and negotiate US budgets to ensure fair market value. 3. Prepare and execute on US confidentially disclosure agreements, when applicable. 4. Prepare US study agreements and facilitate the contract negotiation with investigator/institution 5. Liaise with the paralegal to obtain internal legal review and input on Clinical Study Agreements and Confidential Disclosure Agreements. 6. Meets with Company Research Lab Financial Specialist Administrator and Global Research Specialist to review product budget spending and remaining funds for quarterly and annual assessment. 7. Ensure budgets, study agreements and financial information (planned, estimated and actual payments) are accurately reflected in the database and/or applicable files 8. Participates in the negotiation of agreements directly with US investigators and facilitates the contracting process. 9. Requests quarterly status update reports from investigators and Company subsidiary offices; responsible for entry of his information into the database. 10. Track study milestones (enrollment and study progress) and issue payments to US investigators or advise Company to initiate payments for their local investigators upon achievement of milestones. Alerts Global Research Specialist when enrollment is lagging or other study related issues arise, e.g., milestones are delayed. 11. Provides financial updates on overall product spending, milestone payments initiated and planned to Global Research Specialist. 12. Prepares purchase orders and initiates payments via PtP. 13. Obtain publications/citations every 6 months for up to 18 months after study completion 14. Understands and remains current with the requirements of the External Studies GDP and related Tools, all applicable laws, regulations, and developments affecting the Investigator Initiated Studies Program.
