Reporting to the VP, Americas, the Marketing Manager, Americas will work collaboratively with Sales, Tech Support, Engineers, Training and Product Support in a team environment and assist the management team in the development and execution of marketing strategies that capitalize on our existing market position and products, penetrate new markets and meet our divisional and functional goals both in the U.S and Latin America.
Primary Responsibilities:
Achievement of the financial and strategic goals for the Americas, which may include Latin America. Responsibility for regional product marketing activities including management of designated resources. Creation and execution of effective strategies to support the Americas sales and service teams. Develop local sales and marketing strategies to achieve financial and strategic goals. Define product and country tactics and strategies geared towards achieving the yearly Budget targets. Identify risks, opportunities, and contingency plans. Liaise with global marketing to translate worldwide product strategy into local tactical plans Train Americas sales representatives in execution of tactical plans including provision to the sales force of current and relevant sales tools Train distributor sales staff on Novartis Diagnostics product features and benefits and the execution of country specific tactical plans Support direct and distributor sales teams in customer visits and marketing presence Analyze market trends through senior level customer contact, attendance at scientific and appropriate blood bank meetings Act as the Americas market analyst looking at market trends, customer profitability, and resource efficiency and design business strategies to maximize business efficiency and results. Assist Director Latin America in the management of the established distribution channels and networks. Act as liaison between Novartis Diagnostics global functions and the Americas management team to ensure the market requirements and feed back to the global team in an accurate and timely manner. This would include proposals for new products and product improvements. Work with the Global Marketing Communications team to manage local marketing events and congresses throughout the Americas Region while adhering to all SOPs regarding compliance and timeliness of review Assist sales with the development of key customer business plans Work with VP Americas and related teams on annual forecasting and LRP(long range plan) needs. Conduct analysis and monitoring of business results against budget and plan and provide reports to VP. Provide input to the setting of annual targets with Sales Manager(s) that accurately reflects the market potential. Develop a Business Plan by product and by segment supporting achievement of the annual Budget and LRP. Monitor strategy execution as well as competitive tactics and strategies. As required formulate alternative tactics and strategies. Facilitate the coordination in all Americas region product related activities regulatory, scientific, customer service, quality, supply chain. Review strategy execution with marketing managers in other Novartis Diagnostics geographic areas on an as needed basis. Conduct regular competitive reviews and amend local strategy as needed as result of analysis. Deliver quarterly metrics by market segment for price, donations, customers and tests including all trends effecting these metrics with proposals as to how these trends can be leveraged by the business Minimum requirements:
BA or equivalent laboratory qualification A minimum of 5 years commercial (sales and marketing) experience within medical/diagnostic industry Successful track record of large account management within the IVD or blood industry. Proven track record of delivery of financial results and exemplary customer contracts Proven track record for introduction of new products especially valuable if done in Latin America Ability to work with minimal supervision but in frequent communication with line management in the context of a team environment Deliver quality products and services on time to all customers, internal and external. The role will require travel of up to 30% of time. Ability to speak and understand Spanish and/or Portuguese desired. Adherence with all required Novartis knowledge and behaviors. Maintenance of individual training records and development plans Perform other duties as assigned.Novartis Vaccines & Diagnotics is a new division of Novartis consisting of two businesses focusing on the development of preventive treatments and tools.
