The Medical Information Department is a global resource that responds to medical inquiries from healthcare professionals and patients regarding Alexion's product. Qualified candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong organization, time management, and project management skills. Candidates should be team-oriented, have a professional demeanor, and a proven ability to effectively interpret, assess, and communicate, in writing and verbally, medical/scientific data. Provide accurate, unbiased, balanced, and timely responses to spontaneous medical and pharmaceutical inquiries regarding Alexion's products from healthcare professionals, patients, managed care organizations, field representatives, medical liaisons, global medical colleagues and other internal Alexion customers. Develop written standard and custom responses to inquiries utilizing the published medical literature and internal Alexion resources; ensure quality of verbal and written responses complies with regulatory, commercial and medical information policies and procedures. Maintain and utilize a computerized system of standardized responses and other product information. Coach and mentor junior staff or call center staff as needed. Evaluate and maintain medical literature and compendia regarding Alexion products and therapeutic areas. Develop and provide product and disease state training to call center staff, case managers, field representatives and other internal departments as needed. Provide ongoing support for technical/scientific components of the commercial plan including commercial materials and training. Verify medical data and provide input into the development and review of promotional and/or sales training materials as needed. Serve as a technical resource for commercial, clinical and other key line functions. Support company-supported scientific and educational activities including strategic planning, content development, faculty preparation, budgeting, company-provider interactions, internal review process, and monitoring. Ensure compliance with medical information/safe harbor guidelines. Work on special projects as needed. Visa Sponsorship Not Available for this position. Education Requirement: Pharm.D with 3+ years experience; completion of a residency program preferred or a candidate with an advance degree in a medical or scientific field with experience communicating or interacting with physicians. Experience in literature search techniques, literature evaluation, bibliography development, drug information concepts, and thorough grounding in pharmacotherapy. Ability to effectively interpret, assess, and communicate medical/scientific data to abroad range of audiences. Has general knowledge in peripheral areas of medical education and publications in order to work cross-functionally if necessary to meet company objectives. Proficient in MicroSoft Office Applications. Experience with oncology/hematology products is highly desirable.
