Microstrategy Developer

Modis, a leader in the IT Staffing industry, is seeking a Senior Microstrategy Developer for a permanent position on behalf of our Healthcare client in Charlotte, NC.   Job Description: The purpose of this role is to design, develop and enhance applications within the client's Healthcare Informatics (HCI). This position will also provide trouble shooting and client relations as well as be responsible for providing direction and mentoring to the applications development team. This position works in collaboration with Architecture, Applications Development, Business Analysis, Project Management, Quality Assurance, Product Management, Data Warehousing, Solution Center, and other IT stakeholders to ensure that the applications development changes meet the required deliverables with high quality. This position takes direction from the higher levels of the applications development team (architects, senior architects and IT management). Major Accountabilities: Application Design, Development and Enhancements •  Develop design deliverables for smaller projects and recommend and implement solutions •  Assess issues and available technologies •  Work with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and expectations in order to design and develop appropriate product applications •  Design, develop and enhance product applications that meet customers expectations •  Work with business intelligence solutions to design and develop appropriate applications that query against the data warehouse using clinical, financial, operational and safety data •  Collaborate with Architecture, Applications Development, Business Analysis, Project Management, Quality Assurance, Product Management, Data Warehousing, Solution Center, and other IT stakeholders on progress •  Understand and work with the different data sources within Informatics •  May present design to Design Review Committee •  Attend education sessions and stay abreast of current and changing business and technological environments and enhancements Trouble Shooting: •  Conduct appropriate testing of applications to ensure quality •  Determine software development issues and infrastructure issues and work with appropriate stakeholders to solve problems Client Relations: •  Provide clients with necessary reports that assist them in understanding use of products •  Collaborate with the Application Development team and other cross functional teams to solve product and customer issues. Team Mentoring/Directing Required Skills: •  A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline •  2-4 years experience with MicroStrategy •  Minimum of 5 years general technical experience; 2-4 years applications development experience preferred. •  Demonstrated experience in the entire application development process •  2-4 years experience in MicroStrategy, Excel VBA, Java and related disciplines Demonstrated advanced experience in the following areas: •  MicroStrategy Administrator •  MicroStrategy Desktop •  MicroStrategy Integrity Manager •  MicroStrategy Intelligence Server •  MicroStrategy Narrowcast Server •  MicroStrategy OLAP Services •  MicroStrategy Report Services •  MicroStrategy Web •  Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing Best Practices •  SQL •  SQL Server, Oracle, EnterpriseDB (RDBMS) •  Data Warehousing (DBMS) UNIX and NT Systems •  Development tools—query tools, version control systems •  Certification preferred Job Location Charlotte, NC, US.
