Molecular Sales Specialist - DC
Territory sales position representing the infectious diseases line of products (complex reagents and capital equipment) within an assigned territory. The overall objective is to achieve sales and marketing goals within an assigned territory for all products. Incumbent is responsible for representing the Infectious Diseases product line to molecular diagnostic reference laboratories and hospital-based molecular/pathology laboratories. This will be accomplished through high-level relationships and an intimate understanding of a customer's molecular and financial objectives. The individual will be responsible for interfacing and coordinating sales and service strategies at the prospective accounts with other Abbott personnel and partners. Territory encompasses DC, WV, VA, and MD. The right candidate will be located in or near the DC area.
Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs, ASRs, and other Biologics. Minimum 3-5 years diagnostic sales experience with a minimum of 2 years Molecular experience required. General lab experience and knowledge of general nucleic acid chemistry utilized in molecular pathology,research market is preferred. Excellent skills demonstrated in the following areas are required: leadership, negotiating/closing sales, organizational skills including follow-up, time and territory management, written and verbal communications, analytical, problem solving skills, listening, and presentations skills. Demonstrates teamwork and a positive attitude. Proficient PC skills to include experience in navigating on the Internet, spreadsheet analysis in Excel, and creating presentations utilizing Power Point. Demonstrated knowledge of competing technologies and products is required.
